DIY all-purpose cleaner

I love to keep my house clean and I do not like using harsh chemicals.  So why not make your own all purpose cleaner? It’s VERY easy to do AND will save you lots of $$$ besides.  3 ingredients are all that you need after investing in a 16 oz. spray bottle. The bonus is that you can customize your cleaning blend with your own essential oils.

I am mixing up a blend today of French Lavender, Rosemary and Eucalyptus.

Here is some information about a few of my favorites and their cleaning properties:

  1. Lemon- anti-viral and anti-bacterial

  2. Tea Tree- fights germs, bacteria and viruses

  3. Rosemary- anti-bacterial and antiseptic

  4. Eucalyptus – natural germicide

  5. Lavender- anti-bacterial

What you need:

  • 16 oz spray bottle
  • 15 oz water
  • 3 TBSP liquid castile soap
  • 10 drops each of your blend of 3 essential oils

Combine the water and castile soap in spray bottle.  Add in your essential oils and give it a shake. Use as you would any other all purpose cleaner.  You can always test a spot on a surface if you are unsure. Once you have the bottle and oils this cleaning spray costs you under 1.00 to make and refill.  And you are keeping things natural and reducing chemical fumes in your home.

You can find spray bottles of all sizes locally or order online.  I get my essential oils and liquid castile soap at Harvest Health.  They have a great variety of oils and oil blends plus support local!  http://harvesthealthfoods.com/
