Meet Rachel Major. This West Michigan power women is blazing a trail in the real estate world. She’s the CEO and associate broker of Major Homes, based in Grandville and a WOTV 4 Women crew member. Her business was established in 2014, and her passion for the market has only grown since then. As a realtor, Rachel aims to treat all her clients with the honesty and respect they deserve.
Our new guru is known for her professionalism, upbeat personality, and relentless pursuit to better herself so that she can bring a higher standard of service to her clients. Read on to find out more about this West Michigan power woman and her career.
Question 1: Describe your job and why you love it.
I help individuals with the most important purchase of their life…their home! What I love about my job is meeting new people every day. My mission is to help educate them so that they can make a confident real estate decision. I love taking classes and seek to be a resource of information for my clients.
Question 2: Dig through your purse and tell us three must have items you found and 1 item you were surprised to find.
I must have my ID, debit card, and glasses. An item that surprised me was my Beer City Brewsader passport.
Question 3: When you were a kid what did you want to be when you grew up?
A bank teller.
Question 4: What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?
“What you focus on expands. No pressure, no diamonds.” – Keller Williams Bold law.
Question 5: What’s the job you’ve had (in your lifetime) that still gives you nightmares?
I currently have dreams about real estate. I wouldn’t call them nightmares, but my husband sometimes hears me talking about properties in my sleep!
Question 6: What’s the best thing you’ve done to advance your career?
Constantly attending training. At least one per week if not more. Also, getting my Broker’s license.

No, not ok.
Question 9: Work/life balance? How do you make it work? What time do you “clock out”?
In real estate it’s really hard to ”clock out”. I am pretty much always available for my clients. I try to have a date night once a week with my husband which is typically Friday or Saturday night. I play volleyball once a week throughout the year, indoor and outdoor, then Monday’s from 12pm-4pm is my downtime.
Question 10: Eating lunch at your desk? A do or a don’t?
Oh, for sure!
Question 11: What makes you grateful?
My family, my faith, and my friends.
Question 12: What was your biggest blunder in a job? What did it teach you?
I easily mumble and stumble over words when I am nervous and I simply need to slow down.
Question 13: Describe your morning routine.
Coffee with creamer, cuddles with my dog, and typically addressing emails.
Question 14: Proudest career moment to date.
Closing on my 100th closing, which happened in July 2017. It was a really great milestone for me and helped boost my confidence.

My Husband Denny.

‘Teen Mom’… I have been following these girls since I was in college – 2008 when the show first aired!

Any time I have to present. I am certainly being stretched in this area and excited to grow 🙂
