West Michigan teenager collects blankets for the homeless

Maranda

Maranda recently met a very special young man trying to help the homeless in Kalamazoo. Samuel VerHage has started collecting blankets for the homeless in West Michigan. Samuel’s Blankets for the Homeless began in 2015, the idea came to VerHage during the annual Jesus loves Kalamazoo event. For his 13th birthday Samuel wants people to donate blankets, with a goal of collecting 270 blankets.

VerHage collects blankets throughout the year, which are then organized and put away in a storage unit until it is time to distribute them.

To donate there are drop-off locations across West Michigan. Click here for  list.
