GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) - It was a special morning for the Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding, Inc. The country singing duo, Sugarland, made an appearance and performed at the Center before the big performance at the Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids this evening, Friday, August 10.
The Equest Center for Therapeutic Riding, Inc. is a non-profit organization that started in 1990. Equest Center’s mission is to use animal therapy with horses to help improve the lives and independence of those who have special needs. Equest leads riding therapy classes for those who have special needs, with ages ranging from two to 100. Maranda was able to meet with one Equest rider, Johnny Agar. There are currently over 185 riders who come to Equest each week.
