Helping refugees settle in West Michigan

Samaritas has been a leader in refugee resettlement in Michigan for many years now.  As they work to welcome refugees to our area, they wanted to build a broad coalition of other like-minded organizations and companies that also see the value  in having a diverse, strong community.  The coalition is called Gateways for Growth, it’s a national initiative that encourages communities across the United States to develop multi-sector plans to better integrate immigrants and refugees in their local communities.

Samaritas is Michigan’s largest refugee resettlement agency, with a resettlement office in Grand Rapids. Refugees come to West Michigan from around the world and are not only hard-working and involved in community, they often become entrepreneurs and business owners who employ local residents and stimulate the economy. Please take the Welcoming New Americans to Greater Grand Rapids survey if you are an immigrant or refugee new to West Michigan!
