Tips for handling food allergies in your house

May 13th – 17th is National Food Allergy Awareness Week so I sat down with a registered dietician from Priority Health to talk discuss how people can be cautious if anyone in their family has some sort of food allergy. In fact, around 32 million Americans have a food allergy while 5.6 million of that are children under the age of 18. Since there’s no cure for food allergies, Priority Health helped us understand the best precautious to take to protect loved ones!

There are several steps you can take to ensure anyone in your life with a food allergy will be safe and not have an allergic reaction including reading food labels, buying allergen substitutes, separating safe and unsafe food in the home, labeling safe and unsafe items, and more.
