3,600 people brave heat for Battle Creek Maranda Park Party

Park Parties

Maranda and the Park Party team had a great day at a brand new location for Thursday’s Park Party in Battle Creek, hosting 3,600 kids and families!

The party took place from noon until 1 p.m. at Carson/Rizor Athletic Field next to New Level Sports Ministries, and was cut an hour short due to rain.

“The threat of scorching temperatures did not keep several thousand families from enjoying an afternoon of free fun,” said Maranda. “Even though driving rain and a bit of hail forced us to end the party early, this was a successful celebration of community!”

Free lunch provided by Battle Creek Public Schools started at 11:30 a.m. for all kids 18 years and younger. There was plenty of rides, games, activities, and prizes for kids at the party.

This Park Party was special because of the community partnerships that came together to make it happen. Community partners including Battle Creek Community Foundation, W.K. Kellogg Foundation, New Level Sports Ministries, Battle Creek Public Schools, and the Battle Creek Police Department are dedicated to supporting the families of Battle Creek!
