Today, thousands of kids and families joined Maranda for an afternoon of free fun at Lamar Park. The Wyoming Park Party was an amazing place to kick off the Park Party season, with more than 8,300 in attendance. It was the first in a series of five events that will be celebrated in the West Michigan community with free family fun with Maranda.
“We kicked off the first day of summer with the first Park Party of the season at Lamar Park. The weather was ideal for thousands of kids and families to enjoy an afternoon of free fun! It was the perfect way to start the 24th season of Park Parties,” said Maranda.
The Wyoming Park Party was packed with families who enjoyed a free picnic-style lunch in the park courtesy of the Michigan Department of Education and the area public schools which included fresh grilled hot dogs. Lamar Park was filled with more than 60 different vendors providing a variety of free services, information, and activities. Country Fresh handed out thousands ice cream sandwiches, Priority Health handed out 3,200 fitness bands and kids enjoyed cooling off at the splashpad and so much more!
On June 28th, the Park Party team will be headed to Smith Ryerson Park in Muskegon to bring more free fun! All Park Parties are from noon-2 p.m., with free lunch for anyone 18 and under starting at 11:30 a.m.
