GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) The Pine Rest Mother and Baby program is a special place for mothers and babies. The intensive day treatment program is for women who are struggling with perinatal mood disorders including depression, anxiety, mood swings, anger, irritability, and insomnia.
The Mother and Baby program is unique because women can bring their babies with them. This option eliminates any barriers such as needing child care and babies are incorporated into many of the treatments. If the mother needs a break while she’s there, she can place her baby in the nursery.
The Mother and Baby program includes group sessions so women can share stories, relate to each other, and know they’re not alone. The program teaches good coping skills and gives each mother a set of tools that fits with her new role.
Pine Rest’s Mother and Baby program is available to anyone from pregnancy to up to two years postpartum. It is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Women can enter the program any day in that time frame.
