HOLLAND, Mich. (WOTV) There’s a program in the Ottawa Area Intermediate School District that helps give students a boost in math. Delta Math is a test that allows teachers to identify students who may need a little more help with math during the school year. It helps teachers identify gaps much earlier than they have been able to before, allowing them to get ready for learning when they come to school in the fall.
Delta Math is especially useful for migrant students who move around a lot and may fall behind in math. The assessment helps teachers work with students efficiently so they can teach what they need to teach in the classroom daily and help fill those learning gaps.
OAISD has been doing Delta Math for three years and is seeing an improvement in kids in the classroom.
Parents can help their kids keep their math skills sharp by engaging them in math problems during the summer months. Try creative ways to look at addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.Online:Ottawa Area Intermediate School DistrictDoing More. Together.
