Families join Walk with Maranda at Celebration Cinema

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOTV) – Tons of kids and families joined Maranda and Priority Health at Celebration Cinema on Saturday, March 4th for a special Walk with Maranda event. Check out the video above to see the fun morning of families walking through the theater, playing games, and ending with the Lego Batman movie.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A Forest Hill Central High School senior joins us to discuss her article 'I have PCOS, I cannot focus, and I am hanging on by a thread': an inspiring and captivating piece detailing the struggles that a young highschool student faces on top of navigating the ongoing global pandemic.

Virtual MLK Day Celebration from the Muskegon Museum of Art

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - The Muskegon Museum of Art is offering a virtual Martin Luther King Day celebration.

The event will feature the work of an African American artist, whose work is displayed at the museum, accompanied by a film list as suited for adults. Both will be available on January 18th, here.

School News Network encourages good behavior at home

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - Children always seem more well behaved when they're not at home. School News Network is making an effort to not only encourage their students to be 'safe, kind, respectful, and responsible" in the classroom (virtually for now), but also at home.

Each student received a 'golden ticket' for their hard work during remote learning, but if they email their teachers a video of them doing something 'safe, kind, respectful or responsible' at home, they will earn another ticket! Students Jabriel and Joliet share what they are doing to be helpful at home. What a fun and engaging way to encourage positive habits!
