Approximately 14,500 students with disabilities are served by Kent Intermediate School District's 20 local school districts, 23 public school academies and 62 nonpublic schools.
The school district recently hosted the AssistTechKnow 2018 Conference that provides professional learning to more than 300 educators focused on increasing achievement for student who struggle, are English Language Learners and those with disabilities. The conference helped equip classrooms with resources for special education. It also featured an “Innovation and Idea Showcase” with current educational products and technology supports, everything from computer-based assessments to wiggle cushions that help kids focus.
Kent ISD provides special education services such as Assistive Technology, Transition, Multi-Tier System of Supports (Behavior, Literacy and Math), Visual Impairment and Physical Therapy services to students across the county. Find out more on their website.
