Celebrating National Carousal Day at the Grand Rapids Public Museum

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV) Celebrating National Carousal Day, Maranda headed to the Grand Rapids Public Museum to discuss the museum’s iconic carousal – loved by kids all over West Michigan.

Maranda had the opportunity to talk to a curator about the history of these gorgeous, spinning attractions.   Did you know that all 50 different animals on the carousal are hand carved?

Maranda recently got to visit The Merry-Go-Round Museum in Sandusky, Ohio to find out all about the history of the invention. Applebee’s also had a big part of today’s event at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. They came out to help celebrate National Carousal Dasy and feed the hungry visitors.

While at the museum, Maranda had the chance to participate in two science experiments with two extraordinary science instructors. Every Tuesday during the summer is Science Tuesday at the museum, it’s a great way for kids to stay educated during the summer months.

While you’re at the museum, check out MindBenders Mansion. Check out the video above.
