GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOTV)-For most of us, reading and writing is a skill we often take for granted. Unfortunately literacy is a daily struggle for many. The Literacy Center of West Michigan has helped thousands of local residents learn to read and improve their English skills. According to the Literacy Center website, 1 in 8 adults that you meet in our West Michigan community are struggling with low literacy. Jordan Carson had the chance to talk to a refugee, who is working to make a better life for her family through the services at The Literacy Center of West Michigan.
