A Winter Storm Warning continues in effect for Allegan and Van Buren Counties in Michigan until 7 pm this Christmas Evening for up to 6″ of snow. A Winter Storm Warning continues for Berrien and Cass Counties in Michigan and for St. Joseph and La Porte Counties in Indiana until 4 pm. There’s a Winter Weather Advisory for Ottawa, Kalamazoo, Muskegon, Oceana, Mason, Lake, Wexford, Manistee and St. Joseph (MI) Counties until 7 pm for up to 4″ of new snow.

Keep in mind that if there is a Winter Storm Warning for “up to 6″ of snow”, that doesn’t mean that every place in the county will receive 6″ of snow. It’s like a tornado warning…not everyone in the county gets a tornado. In this case, there is a better chance of more significant snow near the lakeshore…esp. in W. Van Buren, Berrien and Cass Counties.

Small Craft Advisories are also in effect for Lake Michigan until 7 am Saturday. Here’s two graphics from the NWS on the snow coming over the next two days.
