The last of the snow showers will move through West Michgian this Weds. (AM).  Peak wind gusts overnight have been 40-50 mph and this has caused some additional drifting.  Check the WOOD closing page for school, business and church closings and cancelations.

As of 3:20 am – there were 6,765 Consumers Energy customers without power, many of these were due to freezing rain along the Michigan border, with 3,800 in Monroe Co., 650 in Hillsdale Co., 365 in Lenawee Co. and 319 in Branch County.  There were 1,027 out in Saginaw Co. and 363 in Kent County.  Crews were out working on these outages.

This week will follow the active weather pattern we’ve recently had. For the past couple of weeks, a storm system has rolled through West Michigan once every three days. After this current storm, another much weaker area of precipitation is scheduled to arrive later Thursday into early Friday. Although the forecast models have been trending weaker, there will still be a chance of a little wintery mix developing later Thursday.

Stay tuned to Storm Team 8 to see if this stormy pattern continues into next week.
