GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A morning storm system knocked out power to thousands across West Michigan Tuesday.
More than 15,000 Consumers Energy customers were without power at one point in the outage.
Consumers reminded people to stay away from downed power lines. If you see one, call 911 and then Consumers at 800.477.5050. Drivers are also reminded to be alert to Consumers crews working along roads.
Sunday night, a storm system hit West Michigan with strong winds and heavy rains snapped power lines and flooded roads.
Consumers Energy said more than 61,000 customers were without service early Monday morning, when power outages peaked. Most customers had power back by the end of the day.
