GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — As the snow falls Monday, West Michigan drivers can track the progress of the Michigan Department of Transportation’s snowplows from the safety of home.
Trucks traveling faster than 10 miles per hour within 50 feet of a state road will appear on MDOT’s map, along with a brief description of what work they’re doing.
Some plows are also equipped with cameras, allowing visitors to see the roads as they are cleared. The map is visible on the Mi Drive website.
For those who plan to venture on roads still covered in snow, transportation officials ask you to take it slow, turn on your headlights, clear all snow and ice from your vehicle and stay focused.
