Cold and snow no problem for flowers

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — With a wintry weather forecast for this weekend that will include rain, snow and freezing rain, a lot of gardeners may be worried about their tulips, daffodils and other green signs of spring.

There’s no need to worry, Rick Vuyst from Flowerland told 24 Hour News 8 Thursday. He says annual plants that have already shot up are used to April snows and even early blossoms will be fine.

As for trees and other vegetation, they’re still largely dormant. That means they will weather the weather just fine.
