Winter Storm Warning Expanded

The Winter Storm Warning has been expanded to include Allegan, Van Buren and Kalamazoo Counties.  The Warning for these counties now extends to 7 am Tuesday to cover lake-effect snow Monday night along with the snow today, a total of 6-10″.  Here’s current local radar:

Central Great Lakes sector
At 5 am – Kinross near S. Ste. Marie was -25° with a wind chill of -51°.  Even out on Lake Superior, Caribou Is. was reporting a temp. of -2°.  At 4 am, the air temperature at Armstong Station north of Lake Superior was 49 below zero!
