Warmer weather is moving into West Michigan. The above map shows high temperatures across the U.S. and S. Canada on Monday. Some warm places: Miami 94° (usually, Miami has a wind off the water and it’s hard to get warmer than about 92°. Miami had a southwest wind and it got to 94°. Key West hit 89°. On the cooll side, it didn’t get warmer than 41° at Binghamton NY and 44° at Toronto, Canada. Snow was falling Monday evening in the mountains of the Northeast (Catskills, Adirondacks, Green and White Mountains.

Here’s sunset at the Muskegon Channel Monday evening. The days continue to get longer. Tuesday we’ll have 14 hours and 37 minutes of daylight in Grand Rapids. The high temperature here at the Channel weather station was 58° at noon, when the wind was from the ENE off the land. Then the wind shifted to come off the water and the temperature dropped to 45° by 1 pm – a drop of 13 degrees. During that hour, the relative humidity increased from 44% to 81% and the wind speed increased from 7 mph to 17 mph. It’s actually a lake-effect cold front that moved inland.
