A Heat Wave here in West Michigan is three or more consecutive days of 90° or higher. We’ve got one coming starting Friday with temperatures into the low-mid 90s. I could even see a few places reaching the upper 90s. This could be the hottest few days of the summer, as I expect us to head back near average at some point in the 2nd week of July. We’ll also have high humidity readings and warm, muggy nights with temperatures holding up in the 70s. The chance of storms looks (not zero, but) low over the weekend. The heat will cover a large portion of the eastern U.S., including much of the Great Lakes and Northeast.
This is the 6-10 day temperature forecast from the Climate Prediction Center. Note the core of the heat over the Great Lakes, Ohio Valley and Northeast.
