Grand Rapids officially added 4.1″ of snow on Sunday (airport), bringing the season total to 81.2″. That’s 6.7″ above average. Note that Matt Kirkwood’s pre-season snowfall forecast was 85″ – so this is coming pretty close. The 4.1″ was a daily record for Grand Rapids. Muskegon had 6.7″ of snow on Sunday – the 5th greatest midnight-to-midnight snow ever in Muskegon during the month of April. This was also a daily record. Muskegon’s season snowfall is at 77.2″ – less than G.R. That’s 16″ below the season average. Kalamazoo added 3.6″ to bring the season total to 80.1″, whih is 2.4″ above season average.

Chicago had a daily record 5.4″ of snow (O’ Hare). Other Illinois snow totals: 8.5″ Woodstock (where they filmed the movie Groundhog Day), 8.0″ Sycamore, 7.5″ Huntley, 7.4″ DeKalb, 7.2″ Medinah, 4.4″ Midway Airport
Wisconsin snow totals: Union Grove 9.0″, Twin Lakes 8.5″, Camp Lake and Paddock Lake 8.0″, Powers Lake 7.8″, Caledonia 7.0″, Kenosha 6.7″, Racine 6.0″, Milwaukee 3.6″.
I talked to my sister in Oak Ridge TN. – very windy there today – Knoxville had a temp. of 81 with sunshine and a wind gusting as high as 46 mph at 4:30 pm. By 2:10 am, the temperature was down to 46.
There were 192 reports of severe weather on Sunday in 13 states. There were only two tornadoes – one of them in Northern Ohio. Winjds hit 76 mph at Buckhannon W. VA and 2″ hail fell at Wattsburg PM.
