Grand Rapids officially added 4.1″ of snow on Sunday (airport), bringing the season total to 81.2″.  That’s 6.7″ above average.  Note that Matt Kirkwood’s pre-season snowfall forecast was 85″ – so this is coming pretty close.  The 4.1″ was a daily record for Grand Rapids.   Muskegon had 6.7″ of snow on Sunday – the 5th greatest midnight-to-midnight snow ever in Muskegon during the month of April.  This was also a daily record.  Muskegon’s season snowfall is at 77.2″ – less than G.R. That’s 16″ below the season average.  Kalamazoo added 3.6″ to bring the season total to 80.1″, whih is 2.4″ above season average.

I talked to my sister in Oak Ridge TN. – very windy there today – Knoxville had a temp. of 81 with sunshine and a wind gusting as high as 46 mph at 4:30 pm.  By 2:10 am, the temperature was down to 46.

There were 192 reports of severe weather on Sunday in 13 states.  There were only two tornadoes – one of them in Northern Ohio.  Winjds hit 76 mph at Buckhannon W. VA and 2″ hail fell at Wattsburg PM.  We’re tracking the chance of severe weather in the S. Great Lakes next Thursday – more on that later.

You can still see a little floating ice in this Mon. AM shot of the Mackinac Bridge:
