Scattered Frost Wed. AM

Bill's Blog

A Frost Advisory was in effect from Ottawa and Kent Counties to the south this early Wed. AM.  The reason counties to the north were not included in the Frost Advisory is that vegetation isn’t quite as far along as it is to the south.  However, scattered frost did occur in all counties overnight.

These were predicted low temperatures…most areas in the low-mid 30s, but the coldest low spots will see daybreak temperatures in the 20s.

Bulb flowers like tulips, daffodils and hyacints may wilt a little if temperatures fall below freezing, but bounce right back when temperatures warm.  Some other flowers like pansies will also shake off a brief time at or just below freezing.

Here’s low temps. Weds. AM:  South Haven Lighthouse 38.5°, Muskegon Beach 37°.   It dropped to 35° in Grand Rapids (airport), Sturgis and Hillsdale, 34° Ionia (airport), 33° Kalamazoo, Coldwater, Grandville, Sparta, Mendon and Lawton, 32° Three Rivers, Alma, Mt. Pleasant, Marshall, Charlotte, Battle Creek, Jackson, Hastings, Hudsonville and Albion, 31° at Holland (airport), S. Haven (airport), Benton Harbor (airport), East Gr.
