River Bank Run – Cool – Not Much Rain

It’s a damp River Bank Run this year.  Showers and t-showers have dropped about an inch of rain Friday and Friday night on the race course.  While there is an outside chance of a (mainly light) shower or sprinkle during the morning, much of the time it won’t be raining.  Even if it isn’t raining, everything will be wet from the overnight rain.  There are always some volunteers who get out with their brooms and try to sweep away the puddles.

How many of you remember the hot Chicago marathons between 2007 and 2011.  Ask my daughter #1 (Julie) about the 2007 marathon when the temperature was in the mid 80s.  She quit after 4 miles and they eventually shut down the race.  So…mid-upper 40s is OK temperature wise…the wind will be east-northeast…so you’ll run out with the wind at your back and run back with the wind at your face.  Good luck to all my friends (and everyone else!) running (and walking) in the race.
