This is the Lake Michigan satellite picture from Thursday PM.  You can see that there was still snow on the ground north of Grand Rapids.  Houghton Lake is open water, while deeper Higgins Lake just to the north is still ice-covered, as are most of the lakes in N. Lower Michigan.  There is still some ice in Green Bay.

Great Lakes ice extent is down to 5.1% and Lake Michigan is down to just 2.3%.  The water temperature at the Port Sheldon buoy was 39.2 and at the S. Haven buoy it was 38.7.

This is the Lake Superior satellite picture.  You can still see some ice in the bays (Whitefish, Black, etc.) and there is a lot of snow around the lake (53″ on the ground at Painesdale Thurs. AM).

This is the Lake Huron satellite picture with some clouds over the lake and to the east.  They were still getting flurries downwind from Lake Huron Thursday PM.
