Whitecaps’ Parrish staying grounded during losing skid

PLAINFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — The West Michigan Whitecaps are struggling.

So far in the 2018 season, the Whitecaps are last in the league in hitting with a .236 average, last in home runs and last in hits.

Manager Lance Parrish is facing tough circumstances in his first year on the job, but he’s doing his best stay grounded.

“We always want to create a sense of urgency, this is their careers, they only have so much of a window to prove what they’re capable of doing,” Parrish said. “You’re gonna win, you’re gonna lose. I don’t want to beat them up every time we go on a losing streak or have a little bit of a stretch where things don’t go well.”
