Sports OT: Griffins’ Lashoff on defending the cup

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — The Grand Rapids Griffins want to be back-to-back Calder Cup champions.

Defenseman Brian Lashoff, now in his ninth season with the Griffins, stopped by Sports Overtime Sunday to talk about how this year’s roster compares to last year’s, some of the players who are off the ice and his teammates’ attitude as they prepare to defend the cup.

The Griffins open the first round of the Calder Cup playoffs Saturday in Winnipeg against the Manitoba Moose. The first two games of the best-of-five series will be in Winnipeg and the remaining three (if necessary) will be at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids.
