WMU's Harris 'excited' to take on former team

KALAMAZOO, Mich. (WOOD) — After four years in a Michigan uniform, Drake Harris is familiar with the Big House. He'll be back there this weekend — but this time as a Bronco.

Harris, a wide receiver and former Grand Rapids Christian standout, transferred to Western Michigan for his fifth year in the college ranks.

"It would be a great thing for him to get him going against his former team," Western head coach Tim Lester said. "But for him, I think he's really focused on getting into a rhythm, him and (quarterback) Jon (Wassink) getting on the same page."

Harris doesn't seem daunted by the return to Ann Arbor.

"I feel like I have the same amount to prove every Saturday. As a player, you want to go out and play your best every Saturday," Harris said.

"I'm excited, going back and playing against my teammates I was with for four years," he continued. "It's not like it's more of a pressure game. You just got to go out there and play like it's an everyday game. So I'm going to go out there and have fun with it."

Kickoff is scheduled for noon Saturday. The game will air on Fox Sports 1.
