TORONTO (AP/WOOD) — The 2016 finalists for basketball’s Naismith Hall of Fame have been announced, and Michigan State University men’s basketball coach Tom Izzo is on the list.

The group of 14 finalists includes other coaches like Eddie Sutton, Lefty Driesell, Bo Ryan and Muffet McGraw. It also includes players like Shaquille O’Neal, Yao Ming, Allen Iverson and the WNBA’s Sheryl Swoopes.

In his 21 seasons as the Spartans head coach, the eight-time national coach of the year has landed his team in the Final Four seven times, according to a release from MSU. That ties him in second place with active coaches and fourth place with all-time coaches for Final Four placement.

Additionally, the Spartans have made it to 18 NCAA Tournaments in a row under Izzo, which ties MSU for the longest streak in the Big 10, MSU said.

The electees will be announced during Final Four weekend on April 4, 2016.
