Hoops roundup: Drive lose, GR Christian steals win

WALKER, Mich. (WOOD) — Twenty-seven points from Detroit Pistons assignee Luke Kennard weren’t enough for the Grand Rapids Drive to come away with a win Friday night.

Grand Rapids lost to the Lakeland Magic 119-95 at the DeltaPlex to fall to 5-5 on the season.

Kennard was highly productive in his 24 minutes of action, scoring 27 points on 7-of-13 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free throw line. He also had five rebounds and five assists.

Detroit two-way player Zach Lofton also had a big night scoring, finishing with 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting.

Grand Rapids will play Raptors 905 at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Grand Rapids Christian topped Godwin Heights 60-59 Friday night.
