HS hoops: Girls regional championships

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Five area girls high school basketball teams have advanced to the MHSAA state quarterfinals after winning regional titles Wednesday.

Muskegon, Hamilton, South Christian, Pewamo-Westphalia, and Fruitport Calvary Christian will play for a berth to the state semifinals Tuesday night.

Scores from Wednesday night’s regional championships:

Division 1

  • Muskegon beats Hudsonville 65-39
  • DeWitt beats Coldwater 51-41

Muskegon vs. DeWitt Tuesday at 7 p.m. (Loy Norrix High School)
Division 2

  • Hamilton beats Plainwell 47-32
  • Grand Rapids South Christian beats Oakridge 48-42.

Hamilton vs. South Christian Tuesday at 7 p.m. (Portage Northern High School)

  • Freeland beats Central Montcalm 59-51

Division 3

  • Pewamo-Westphalia beats Calvin Christian 56-37
  • Niles Brandywine beats Centreville 64-58

Pewamo-Westphalia vs. Niles Brandywine Tuesday at 7 p.m. (Thornapple-Kellogg High School)

  • Lake City beats Hart 47-25

Division 4

  • Fruitport Calvary Christian beats Mendon 49-46
  • Lenawee Christian beats Portland St. Patrick 59-24
