GVSU soccer opens NCAA tournament with dominant win

ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Top-seeded Grand Valley State University soccer opened the NCAA Tournament with a blowout victory on Friday.

The Lakers dominated their game against Rockhurst, coming away with a 7-0 win to improve to 21-0-1 on the year.

Cecilia Steinwascher scored the first and game-winning goal in the 15th minutes, one of seven different Lakers to score a goal.

GVSU will take on No. 4 Walsh at 1 p.m. Sunday at the GVSU Soccer Field in hopes of winning their 10th consecutive regional championship.
