GRAND RAPIDS, Mich (WOOD) — Needing to pick up just one point to qualify for the postseason, the Grand Rapids Griffins came up just short Friday night at Van Andel Arena falling to Manitoba, 4-1.

The Moose scored a pair of goals in both the second and third period building a 4-0 advantage. Grand Rapids added a goal in the final minute.

Iowa defeated Chicago 2-1 in overtime.

The outcome of that contest sends the Griffins into the regular season finale Saturday night against Milwaukee facing the same playoff-clinching scenario.

Grand Rapids controls its path to the postseason needing a win or overtime contest against the Admirals. If that doesn’t happen, the Griffins can still make the playoffs with some help.
