HOLTON, Mich. (WOOD) — Holton is readying for its first ever appearance in the state semifinals.

The Red Devils have reeled off three straight playoff wins after closing out the regular season with three straight losses. Last week’s win over Mendon put them in the semifinals.

“It’s great to be in the position where we’re at,” head coach Jack Nummerdor said. “We’re very happy with where we are, but we’re not satisfied. We talked about that. We not only want to get to Ford Field, but we also want to win it all. We’ve put ourselves in position. We feel like we’ve been given a second chance for a reason by skating into the playoffs the way we did, so we’re here to try to take care of that.”

They’ll play Reading in a Division 8 semifinal, a matchup that’s sure to test their defense. Reading has averaged 50 points per game.

The game begins at 1 p.m. Saturday at Battle Creek Harper Creek.
