GRC, West Catholic bring back City League rivalry

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — They will dust off the cobwebs at Grand Rapids Christian High School Friday night.

West Catholic and Christian Eagles will meet for the first time since the City League disbanded back in 2007.

The Eagles remember that season well as do the Falcons, West Catholic was the final city league champion.

But as the light shine down again Friday on Eagles Field, it’s a rivalry renewed. One that stretches far past Eagle Stadium and this single game, it’s a long line of history and tradition that was the City League.

Watch the video above for more memories of past players and coaches.
