ENSLEY TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A tournament in West Michigan next week will pit traditional golfers against disc golfers to raise money for a Christian sports charity.

The tournament scheduled for Tuesday at Pilgrim’s Run Golf Club near Pierson. Teams of two will square off and play nine holes of alternate shot disc versus traditional golf, then a nine-hole scramble. Both teams will play the same hole and distances will be set up accordingly.

“We’re trying to do it exactly like Ryder Cup style. Everybody’s going to have cards, they’re going to use the big scoreboard here. So we’re excited about just a new, unique event,” Jeff O’Malley of Pilgrim’s Run said.

The event is benefiting Eagle Wings Disc Golf Ministry, a nonprofit that works locally and with missions in other countries.
