WYOMING, Mich. (WOOD) – After years of serving up meals, a family favorite in Wyoming has closed for good.
The Old Country Buffet located at 1038 28th Street SW shut down this week after its parent company, Buffets LLC, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, according to Auction Nation.
Buffets LLC operates more than 150 restaurants nationwide, including Old Country Buffet and Fire Mountain, the court filing states.
Auction Nation is hosting an online auction Wednesday and Thursday to sell off the restaurant’s assets. The items include industrial stoves, grills, fryers, mixer, a soft serve ice cream maker, deep fryers, popcorn machine, seating, artwork, even the kitchen sink.
“It is sad to see this location close its doors since so many local patrons have been coming here for years,” Sean Doonan, COO for Auction Nation stated in a Wednesday news release, adding the online auction is an “amazing opportunity” for patrons and the public to take home a piece of the restaurant.
The online auction runs through noon Thursday. Registration is free.
