GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman wanted for allegedly providing heroin to a man who fatally overdosed in Allegan County has been arrested.
According to jail records, Ashley Ashbrook, 30, was taken into custody by Grand Rapids police on Wednesday and is being held on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance causing death.
Ashbrook is accused of providing heroin to her former neighbor on West Superior Street in Wayland, 28-year-old Julius Lehmoine, on Oct. 3.
Lehmoine died from an overdose that day, according to Allegan County District Court records.
Charges were filed earlier this month after an investigation by the West Michigan Enforcement Team that included lengthy toxicology testing.
Last week, Ashbrook was reportedly spotted by a man who claims she assaulted him near Leonard Street and Alpine Avenue NW.
The delivery of a controlled substance causing death charge carries a maximum penalty of life in prison.
