Walk for healthy hearts

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) Many people have causes to rally behind, but for some who put their time and support to work for an organization, the mission is very personal. That’s the case for many supporters of the American Heart Association.

Sarah Holden was 22 years old when she went into sudden cardiac arrest. Her boyfriend Matt gave her CPR that saved her life until she could get medical attention. Holden says she had no signs or symptoms ahead of time and was a healthy and active person. She says the experience has taught her to spread the message to others to learn CPR and become educated about heart health.

The American Heart Association has two walk events coming up, sponsored by Subway. Both are stroller friendly and dog friendly. Everyone is invited to support the mission of the American Heart Association.Grand Rapids Heart Walk
