GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — A portion of Leonard Street will be closed next week for construction of a water main connection to the new Kids’ Food Basket store.

One lane of the road will be closed in each direction starting Monday. On Oct. 24, Leonard Street will be closed completely just east of Plymouth Avenue until Oct. 28.

Official detour routes during the project are Plymouth Avenue, Oak Industrial Drive and Maryland Avenue. Perkins Avenue will also be open for trips around the area being closed.

One lane in each direction will reopen Oct. 29, and the project is scheduled to be completed before the morning rush hour on Nov. 5.
