GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — On this “To The Point,” we’ll look at how the Michigan Department of Corrections will deploy its new budget, a local congressman who welcomed nearly 300 new U.S. Citizens and a former congressman who is working with a group that could field a third-party presidential candidate.
Former Southwest Michigan Congressman Fred Upton says the effort to create a third-party presidential candidate is working to get on the ballot.
“The first step is to get on all 50 states ballots and that’s in the works and then obviously the unveiling today of what we call common sense principles in terms of where we think most of America is in terms of the issues. But there is a pathway to get to 270 votes,” he said.
Plus, a political newcomer says she wants to run for Congress. We’ll have it all on this “To The Point” episode for the weekend of July 22.
