GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — With some of the preliminaries out of the way in Lansing, like the State of the State and the budget introduction, individual lawmakers will introduce bills that they think deal with import issues in the state.
Rep. Michelle Hoitenga, R-Manton, said Michigan should quit springing forward and falling back.
“When I introduced the bill, I didn’t care which way we go with it,” Hoitenga said. “We stay on daylight saving time or we stay on standard time, I didn’t care. I just wanted to end the ritual.”
Another bill introduced by Rep. William Sowerby, D-Clinton Township, would attempt to restore the language from a ballot initiative and rapidly raise the minimum wage after Republicans changed the language in the last session of the Legislature.
Above on this March 17, 2019, episode of “To The Point,” we look at two of dozens of bills that will be introduced over the next several weeks.
