BELDING, Mich. (WOOD) – A West Michigan mother who lost her 10-year-old son is now dealing with another loss.

Shauna Green-Smith said someone has stolen the bench she was given in memorial of her son, Devon Morrison.

In September 2013, Devon left his home to go fishing and never returned home. A team of volunteers searched the area for several days until his body was pulled from the Flat River.

Green-Smith said someone stole the memorial bench out of her yard on Harrison Street Tuesday night. She posted the following plea on her Facebook page Wednesday:

“To who ever took it, please just bring it back. It’s just wood to you but to me it’s memories. Memories of how loved my little boy was. If anyone knows anything please contact me via facebook.”

Green-Smith’s post has since been shared more than 1,600 times on Facebook.
