GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Spectrum Health officials on Thursday cut the ribbon on their upgraded Rehabilitation and Nursing Center on Grand Rapids’ south side.
The facility on Kalamazoo Avenue north of 44th Street SE boasts a two-story addition. That adds over 122,000 square feet to the main building.
The addition provides more room and privacy for patients.
“What part of this does is it provides private patient rooms so they can come here and recover and heal, especially for short time rehabilitation,” said Spectrum Health Group President Christina Freese-Decker.
Members of the center’s Patient and Family Advisory Committee all had their say in the design of the areas they use most.
