DOWAGIAC, Mich. (WOOD) — A woman spotted lying in yards and taking off her clothes was among several methamphetamine arrests over the weekend in Cass County, police say.
The woman was in the area of Dewey Street and Lyle Street when witnesses reported seeing her walking through yards and looking through people’s windows around 11:30 p.m. Friday. While officers were responding, they were told the woman was lying in several yards and the roadway and taking off her clothes.
When officers found the 36-year-old woman, she admitted to being under the influence of meth she recently smoked. She was taken to the Cass County Jail to await arraignment on a disorderly conduct charge.
The next night, a Dowagiac officer who noticed a large unattended fire busted a 33-year-old man from Buchanan for meth found in his backpack. The officer spotted the man’s backpack while investigating the fire in the backyard of a home on Jay Street near Oak Street.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office also arrested a 37-year-old man and 30-year-old woman during a Saturday search of a Calvin Township home. Detectives said they found several bags of meth and drug paraphernalia inside the home on Calvin Hill Street near Cassopolis Road, southeast of Dowagiac.
