BRIDGMAN, Mich. (WOOD) — A brief waterspout over Lake Michigan was spotted off the coast of Bridgman in Berrien County Tuesday evening.
The waterspout was visible for just a few minutes around 6:50 p.m. and there have been no reports of the spout moving to shore or causing any damage.
Patrick Hooker in Bridgman shot video of the waterspout. He described it as spinning over the lake for a few minutes and falling apart as it arrived at a small hill on the shoreline.
The National Weather Service’s office in northern Indiana, which covers Berrien County, said the waterspout matches a small storm on radar at the time, though the radar is too far away from Bridgman to very small scale rotation so close to the surface.
