Van Buren County crash kills man

DECATUR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — A man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Van Buren County Thursday.

It happened around 1:15 p.m. in the 37000 block of County Road 669 in Decatur Township, south of Paw Paw.

The Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office said the driver was heading westbound when he lost control, went off the road and struck a tree.

The driver, a 43-year-old Vandalia man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released Friday pending family notification.

The sheriff’s office said the crash remains under investigation.
