Sturgis area woman found safe

MOTTVILLE TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities have located a woman who was missing from the Sturgis area.

Gwenneth Elizabeth Detwiler, 19, had last been seen between 9 a.m. and 10 a.m. Saturday in the 11000 block of Riverside Drive in Mottville Township, about 18 miles west of Sturgis. She was found safe on Tuesday.

Sturgis police launched the investigation; the St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Office joined the effort just after 11 p.m. Saturday.

Detwiler is white with red hair and brown eyes. She is approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds.
