FLOWERFIELD TOWNSHIP, Mich. (WOOD) — Authorities have arrested several people connected to a homicide in St. Joseph County Thursday morning.

The St. Joseph County Office of the Prosecuting Attorney says two men and a woman were arrested in connection with the homicide that took place early Thursday morning.

All three individuals have been charged with open murder, three counts of armed robbery, and felony firearm.

Authorities say all three will be arraigned within the next 48 hours.

St. Joseph County Undersheriff Mark Lillywhite says it all happened around 3 a.m. Thursday on South Street near Flowerfield Road in Flowerfield Township, south of Schoolcraft.

That’s where authorities found a 42-year-old man who had been shot in the chest, the undersheriff said.

While Lillywhite isn’t releasing the victim’s name at this time, he said the man drove a semi-truck, which was parked at the scene. The undersheriff said the victim did not live there, but could not elaborate why he was in the area.

In an email sent to local news agencies, Prosecuting Attorney John McDonough said no additional information will be released until next week.
